Glazing is a trade where one missed install date costs more than the job. The crew still gets paid, the crane hire is still booked, and the re-cut comes out of margin. Most glazing firms find that out from a job-management system that reports jobs but never reports performance. This Glass Installation KPI Dashboard in Google Sheets is the missing layer: 13 monthly measures on one page, with month-to-date and year-to-date achievement, traffic lights and a twelve-month trend behind every number.Glass Installation KPI Dashboard in Google Sheets

The 13 KPIs on the Glass Installation KPI Dashboard
The scorecard is built around four groups. Every KPI carries a unit, a direction, an owner and a priority on a separate register sheet, so the list is yours to change.
| Group | KPIs | What it answers |
|---|---|---|
| Installation & Delivery | Glass Installations Completed, On-Time Installation Rate, Average Installation Cycle Time | Are we shipping the volume we promised, on the day we promised? |
| Quality & Safety | Right-First-Time Installation Rate, Glass Breakage Rate, Rework / Callback Rate, Recordable Safety Incident Rate, Warranty Claim Rate | Is the work right the first time, and is anyone getting hurt? |
| Financial | Gross Margin, Average Job Value, Material Waste Percentage | Are we earning on the work we win? |
| Customer & Sales | Customer Satisfaction (CSAT), Quote-to-Job Conversion Rate | Do quotes turn into jobs, and do customers come back? |
Seven of the thirteen are upper-the-better and six are lower-the-better. That distinction matters more than it sounds. Achievement is calculated as Actual divided by Target for an upper-the-better measure and Target divided by Actual for a lower-the-better one, so beating a breakage target or a cycle-time target scores above 100% rather than reading like a failure. A spreadsheet that gets this backwards will quietly tell you your best month was your worst.
One month picker drives the whole workbook
Pick a month on the dashboard sheet and everything re-reads from it: the seven header cards, the 13-row table, the trend page and the analysis page. In the sample year, September 2025 shows 13 KPIs tracked, 6 on target, 4 at risk and 3 missed on a year-to-date basis, 9 of 13 improving against prior year, average MTD achievement of 101.3% and YTD of 99.6%.Glass Installation KPI Dashboard in Google Sheets
Each row then carries the full picture twice – Actual, Target, Achievement %, Status, Prior Yr and vs PY for month-to-date, and the same six again for year-to-date. So Glass Installations Completed reads 193 against a 180 target for the month, and 1,649 against 1,590 for the year. On-Time Installation Rate reads 90.60% against 93.11 – amber both ways, and the first thing you would take into a review.Glass Installation KPI Dashboard in Google Sheets
Traffic lights you can move
On Target starts at 100%, At Risk covers 95% to 99%, and Missed is anything below 95%. Those thresholds sit in ordinary status formulas on the dashboard sheet, not inside an add-on, so a firm that wants 98% as its on-time floor edits three cells and the whole scorecard re-colours.
One KPI, twelve months, two charts

The trend page answers the question a single month never can: is this a blip or a slide? Choose any KPI and you get twelve rows – month, prior-year month, actual, target, prior year, achievement and status – for MTD and for YTD, with a column chart under each. Glass Installations Completed misses in March at 88.7% and drifts amber in November and December, while the cumulative line stays comfortably ahead all year. That is a seasonality story, not a crew problem.Glass Installation KPI Dashboard in Google Sheets
Group roll-up and the bottom five

The analysis page rolls the same numbers up by group – how many KPIs each group owns, how many are on target, at risk or missed, and the average achievement – then ranks the top and bottom five by year-to-date achievement. In the sample year Quote-to-Job Conversion Rate leads at 105.2% and Rework / Callback Rate trails at 92.5%, with Gross Margin at 93.6% and Material Waste Percentage at 94.4% just above it. Two of the bottom three are cost measures, which points at the cutting table rather than at the sales desk. That bottom-five list is usually the monthly agenda, written for you.Glass Installation KPI Dashboard in Google Sheets
Google Sheets, Excel or field-service software?
| This Google Sheets scorecard | An Excel KPI workbook | ServiceTitan / Jobber tier | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cost | One-time, under 10 | One-time, around 13 | 99-300+ per user per month |
| Where it runs | Any browser | Desktop Excel | Web and mobile |
| Setup | Copy the file, type your numbers | Download and open | Weeks of onboarding |
| Collaboration | Native, share with a link | Only via OneDrive | Seat-based |
| Custom KPIs | Edit the register sheet | Edit the sheet | Fixed report library |
| Scheduling and dispatch | No | No | Yes |
| Where the data lives | Your Drive | Your disk | Vendor cloud |
The honest summary: if you need dispatch, quoting and surveying, buy the software. If you already have a job system and simply cannot get a monthly performance page out of it, a formula-driven sheet does the job for the price of lunch.
Who it fits, and who it does not
It fits a residential and commercial glazing firm running roughly 150 to 250 installs a month, an operations manager reporting to an owner once a month, and a multi-branch franchise that wants every branch on one format.Glass Installation KPI Dashboard in Google Sheets
It does not fit if you want daily granularity – the whole workbook is monthly. It is not a CRM and it integrates with nothing; figures are typed or pasted in each month. And it will not satisfy a regulator: the Recordable Safety Incident Rate row is a management metric, not an OSHA log, and nothing in it records safety-glazing conformity to standards such as ANSI Z97.1 or 16 CFR 1201.
Setting up the Glass Installation KPI Dashboard in about twenty minutes
- Make your own copy into your Google Drive.
- Open the KPI Definition sheet and rename, re-group or re-own any of the 13 measures. Set each one to UTB or LTBGlass Installation KPI Dashboard in Google Sheets
- Set the first month of your reporting year in cell E3 on the Actual input sheet – an April-to-March year re-bases the whole workbook.
- Replace the sample year across the three input grids: actual, target and prior year.
- Go to the dashboard, pick a month, and read the cards and then the rows.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a paid Google Workspace account?
No. A free personal Google account is enough to make and keep your own copy.
Can I add a fourteenth KPI?
Yes, but it is a two-part edit: add the row on the KPI Definition sheet, then extend the three input grids by the same row. Renaming or re-grouping an existing KPI is a one-cell change.
Does it handle a non-calendar financial year?
Yes. Cell E3 on the Actual input sheet sets the first month and the workbook re-bases from there.
Are the figures in the screenshots real?
No. The 2025 numbers are sample data so the formulas can be seen working. Replace them with yours.Glass Installation KPI Dashboard in Google Sheets
Is there an Excel or Power BI edition?
A Power BI edition of the same 13-KPI scorecard is available. An Excel edition is in preparation.
How does this differ from the KPI scorecard version?
They are different products. The scorecard is a 10-KPI card layout; this is the 13-KPI dashboard line, with the group roll-up and the top and bottom five analysis page the scorecard does not have.
